International Pillow Fight Day

We had a really fun and very "New York-y" day today! It started with a parade, which I'll post about later, and then moved on to the observance of International Pillow Fight Day.

What is International Pillow Fight Day, you ask? Why, just what it sounds like. Today, huge public pillow fights took place in cities around the world, from New York to Budapest (where my cousin Jacob lives! Hi, Jacob & Zita!) to San Diego to Moscow to Quebec, and many more. The one in New York was held in front of Federal Hall/The Stock Exchange on Wall Street at 3:00 this afternoon. We made it out there around 3:15, so we missed the start of it, but it was still going in full force and showing no signs of slowing down.

We didn't pillow fight ourselves, but we had a blast watching the feathers fly on Wall Street! Check it out:

Fight! Fight! Fight! Pillows in action on Wall Street. You can see the Stock Exchange on the right (with the giant flag, of course).

General shot of the madness. Eric liked the statue of George Washington (on the left) overlooking the madness. That building is where he was inaugurated. Wonder what he would think of this craziness?

Flying feathers!

If you had been there, would you have brought your pillow and joined in?

Our fun weekend isn't over yet - the weather is supposed to be beautiful tomorrow, so we'll take advantage of that. And even if the weather takes an unexpected turn for the worse, we bought paint today to paint a couple of our walls! So that will be something else to look forward to. Stay tuned for parade details and apartment updates!
