Sibling Love

Ellie is rocking this Big Sister gig, let me tell you. I hope to get a full post up one of these days about Ellie as a big sister, but for now, suffice it to say that it is entirely possible that she likes E.J. even more than Eric and I do. The girl is smitten.

The other day, Eric took E.J. into Ellie's room with him when she was waking up from her nap and put E.J. in her crib with her, which she thought was the COOLEST THING EVER. So now it's a game and she asks for E.J. in her crib daily. If he's in good spirits, we generally oblige - with close supervision, of course, because she's likely to go all Lennie (from Of Mice and Men) on him if we're not vigilant. She spends their crib time together cooing and fussing over him, giddily studying his "tiny little toes" and generally cuddling with her "buddy." And to his credit, not only is E.J. endlessly patient with her and tolerant of her smothering love, but he actually seems to return the sentiment. He likes her and enjoys their time together, too.

And that photo above, my friends, is the best argument in favor of having two kids that I ever saw. I hit the jackpot with these two.
