Mets v. Braves at Citi Field

Okay first of all, last night's Glee concert was FABULOUS. We had such a fantastic time! There were great group numbers, solos that gave me chills, special guest appearances and all kinds of fun stuff. I took tons of pics and videos (naturally), so I have lots of editing/sorting/compiling to do. Hence, you will have to wait for Glee pics until next week. Patience, my Glee-loving friends!

In the meantime, let's talk baseball a little more. The Friday after we returned from our road trip, Eric and I went to a Mets game at Citi Field. Going to a Mets game was another item on my NYC To-Do List, so when the weather was gorgeous and tickets were available, we decided to make it happen.

Citi Field

Ready for some baseball!

The Home Run Apple, which was moved to Citi Field from the old Shea Stadium, where it would rise out of a top hat in center field whenever the Mets hit a home run

We have really be accumulating photos of us at different baseball stadiums, haven't we?

Although neither of us had been to a game at Citi Field before, Eric had been to a Mets game at Shea Stadium, before Citi Field was built. It seems to have gotten much less attention, but the Mets opened their new stadium the same year the Yankees opened theirs! Eric went to a Mets game at the old stadium when he was a summer associate, so he does not count this game as adding to his "Visit All 30 MLB Stadiums" goal. I guess the goal really is to see each of the 30 teams play a game at their home stadium, so adding new stadiums doesn't count. Semantics, I say!

When we arrived, we spent some time wandering around the stadium a bit and checking it all out before finding our seats and filling out our All Star brackets. (I vote the Indians party line, in case you were wondering, with an occasional Tampa Bay Ray thrown in for good measure.)

The Mets were playing the Braves that night, and I am not a Braves fan, so I had no trouble cheering on the Mets. And anyway, if I had to pick a New York team to cheer for, it certainly wouldn't be the Yankees, so go Mets! Plus, Mets colors are blue and orange, and who can argue with that?

Jose Reyes and Daniel Murphy

Mets at bat - no home runs, unfortunately, so no apples rising out of top hats for us.

Unfortunately, the Mets ended up losing, but we enjoyed the game and the stadium anyway.

Yay, baseball!

Another NYC To-Do List item has been crossed off! We're really motoring through that list, aren't we?

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

I'm glad you explained Eric's rationale--when I read you guys went to another baseball game I was wondering if it allowed him to cross another one off his list or not :)

You've been crossing so many things off your list lately! Now the question is, what are you going to do when you finish it?! New items? New list?

Can't wait for the Glee post!
